Tessa & Marc were together for twelve years before they married in August and had a lovely country wedding in Hertfordshire. They knew each other inside out and they just wanted to celebrate the time they had already been together by tying the knot. They always wanted a venue that the whole family could enjoy – from the grandparents to the guest’s children. It would have to be a venue with a fantastic team of chefs offering a great menu because food was a passion of theirs. The wedding had to be fun and lively, very much like Tessa & Marc themselves.
Hanbury Manor is a 17th century Jacobean style country house set in 200 acres of spectacular Hertfordshire parkland and benefits from all the modern comforts associated with 5 star luxury. It was very important to Tessa & Marc that their venue would provide them with a private wedding without hotel guests passing through. They chose ‘Garden Court’ which consisted of the Summer House and lounge for their wedding which would be totally exclusive to them. They would have the use of all the grounds and the accommodation for their guests was right next door.
The photographer on the day was the very talented Keith from Appleby Photography. The wedding was jam packed with activities and places to explore – including a Moroccan style tent and a photo booth in the style of a New York cab, and so Keith did a fantastic job capturing every single part of the day. Please have a peek at Keith’s other images here.
Tessa was a very creative bride and knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding. As a working professional she had fantastic ideas but not enough time to carry them out. Marc is a very well known magician and mind reader in the events industry (see his website here), so he is a very confident guy and has performed at an array of prestigious venues up and down the country. He is also probably one of the funniest guys you will ever come across. His sense of humour has everyone smiling and feeling at ease within minutes. As he is an entertainer himself, he wanted to ensure there was great entertainment at his own wedding. Two of his choices for entertainment were Judge the Poet who would write a poem about each guest using that guest’s choice of a few words and a silhouette cutter who created fantastic little silhouettes of the guests which they could take home.
The most important factor for Tessa & Marc was that they wanted to achieve a relaxed atmosphere during the day with guests sipping on champagne enjoying the beautiful grounds of the venue, and later on in the evening – a full on party.
Marc looked dashing in his grey suit which was made by bespoke tailors Thom Sweeney. Tessa had her beautiful dress designed at Mirror Mirror in Islington. She opted for a beautiful bouquet of cascading orchids. Her bridesmaids looked sensational in their very classy above the knee dresses andd the flower girls and page boys were certainly not forgotten!
The wedding breakfast was inside the house. Tessa & Marc made their grand entrance by walking down the beautiful staircase leading into the room. The cake was white with sugared orchids in beautiful tones of purple. The tables had beautiful low floral arrangements, purple rimmed charger plates, glassware to match and a heart warming message on each guest’s napkin thanking them for coming.
It was a fantastic wedding and even if it had rained, it would not have dampened the mood.
A note from the happy couple..
“How can we begin to thank you for all your effort and support! You guys rock!”
