I’m sure you will agree that seeing these beautiful images taken by Adam Alex is all it takes to really understand why marrying abroad has become so popular.
Jessie & Daniel decided to get married on the Greek island of Mykonos and it really was an amazing place to celebrate their wedding. They spent seven days with their friends and family enjoying the sun, sea, beach and fresh food at a luxury hotel on a quiet side of the island. Not only did they have the day of the wedding to celebrate, they had BBQs on the beach, boat parties, parties at the clubs and relaxing by the pool for the rest of the week.
White Avenue spent several days in Mykonos preparing for the wedding ceremony and reception, ensuring all suppliers were ready to go and everything in place. Whilst the preparations were underway, there was plenty of time for the couple to have some amazing shots taken by Adam Alex around the island.
The couple spent the afternoon getting ready before the ceremony which would begin just before sunset. Jessie, originally from Malaysia, had cultural symbols surrounding her in her room that stood for happiness and good fortune.
When Sophia from White Avenue went dress shopping with Jessie back in London, they were on the search for something that was slimline and glamourous, but a dress that still had the simplicity that was needed for an outdoor destination wedding. When the maid of honour and I saw Jessie in the one she chose, we knew it was perfect. Jessie wore a beautiful mermaid style Justin Alexander wedding gown which had a silver tinge because of all the beading over the lace, especially at the trim. It was also beaded at the neckline and at the waist. The back was V shaped with buttons going down.
The wedding ceremony would take place in the courtyard of a beautiful little chapel overlooking the sea. This would be the place where two families would become one.
A violinist played as guests took their seats and then shortly after, an entrance song started to play. Guests turned their heads to see the bridesmaids making their way down the steps, followed by the bride and her father.
The reception took place high up on the hill with a panoramic view of the sea.
There was a ‘wishing tree’ for guests to write messages to the couple. The flowers were a mix of pinks, whites, greens, golds and soft peach.
There were ‘Mr & Mrs’ games, Greek dancing, plate smashing, fireworks and jazz music. It was a great party!
