Much to so many people’s delight, this month (September 2014) we see the return of Downtown Abbey on our TV screens. The popular series has inspired many brides wanting to create their own version of a vintage wedding.
London based wedding planners White Avenue teamed up with the fantastic floral designer Karen Tran. We wanted to create a beautiful vintage styled photo shoot with a modern Downton Abbey feel. Along with our team of top suppliers, we re-created a vintage English style wedding in the Penthouse of The Dorchester Hotel.
Two different wedding dresses by Claire Pettibone, exquisite florals by Karen Tran, original jewellery worn by the Downton Abbey cast and magnificent cakes by Olofson Design. What better eye-candy could you possibly want! Images by Joseph Matthew Photography.
A match made in heaven; Claire Pettibone gowns and Harriet Wilde shoes.
Stationery was designed by US company J Grace and the bespoke calligraphy was provided by Paul Antonio Scribe.
In true Lady Mary style, soft make-up and a pretty up-do, our bride was a vision in vintage!
We went for a mint green and gold theme for the styling. We did of course have the traditional silverware that you would expect to see from the Downton era.
Hair was styled by the talented Ondine Cowley and make-up by Lina Cameron.
Andrew Prince, the jewellery designer for Downton Abbey, allowed us to use his stunning pieces for our shoot.
