Stationary is sometimes over looked when putting plans together for your wedding. We are huge stationary lovers here at White Avenue and its part of our planning process to recommend our clients to the right stationery designer. It is an exciting and fun task for a couple to start designing their wedding stationary and it a great way of putting their own personal stamp on the wedding. An invitation is a representation of what the couple is all about and reflects their style and personalities. It will also provide guests with an insight into what they can expect for the wedding day, and something to get excited about.

Designing wedding stationary can go much further than just the invitations. Creating a theme and having matching menu cards, place cards and table plan all in the same way is a lovely touch.

There is so much variety out there, which means it is sometimes difficult to choose which style of invitation is best suited to your personalities and wedding style. Your wedding invite might be a single postcard, or it could be an elaborate folded card with inserts and layered textures.  You can choose from a patterned design, satin ribbon, illustrations, laser cut cards, jewels… Well the list is endless. However, the main consideration to aim for is luxury paper and quality printing.

Let us introduce you to the queen of letterpress – the talented Emma Jo.

Emma Jo specialises in custom, design led wedding stationery and paper goods for couples that want something a little different.

Emma Jo offers an extensive collection of letterpress wedding invitations, save the dates and coordinating stationery. All pieces are printed the old fashion way on beautifully tactile cotton stock, individually hand fed on vintage presses and lovingly hand finished with patience and care.

Emma Jo tells White Avenue that she is really proud to provide a variety of options and also offer digitally printed versions of all designs to compliment the letterpress stationery. She says “This gives my couples more options and possibilities for their stationery, whether they are budget, time or design led. I spend a lot of time perfecting and critiquing new designs and methods so I can offer the best stationery available and importantly to me, just as much care is taken in the printing and finishing stage. Nothing leaves the studio until I have meticulously checked each and every item.”

With a degree in Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design Emma Jo has a wealth of experience and is extremely passionate about the stationary she provides. Throughout the process she works closely with every couple to create a unique, personalised invitation and is willing to consider all ideas, no matter how impossible. In fact Emma herself says, “I love to hear from couples no matter how bonkers or challenging their ideas may be.”

Our favourite Emma Jo designs have been the quirky but sophisticated “ticket” style invitation and the vintage style birdcage invites. Take a look at her elegant website:
