Its always an exciting feeling to visit a hotel that is brand spanking new – like a present that has been unwrapped on Christmas Day or a new pair of shoes worn for the first time. Our immediate impressions upon walking into the Whitehall entrance was jaw dropping – the main courtroom and the large crystal globe ceiling feature was stunning!
A friend who works for a firm that provided the surveying for this hotel emphasised that no expense was spared in turning this hotel into one of London’s competing deluxe hotels – we couldn’t agree with him more. We are proud to announce a fabulous partnership between White Avenue and the Corinthia and look forward to welcoming couples to this beautiful location.
A five star deluxe hotel situated in the heart of London, the Corinthia Hotel is a luxury historic hotel on the corner of Whitehall and Northumberland Avenue, a stone’s throw away from iconic London landmarks such as Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery and Downing Street.
Originally built in the 1800’s as the Metropole Hotel and later used as a government building during WW1 and WW2 this stunning hotel was acquired in 2007. Over four years the hotel was lovingly remodelled and restored and opened in 2011 to create the Corinthia’s flagship London Hotel. The home to the latest group of X Factor hopefuls (- 2 guests recently) the hotel boasts 294 luxury suites, fine dining and stunning architecture set against the City of London.
The hotel offers the perfect setting for a city wedding. Surrounded by excellent photo opportunities along the River Thames the Corinthia’s Ballroom provides the perfect setting to celebrate a special event, be it a wedding, an engagement, an anniversary or a corporate party. Restored to its Victorian architecture the ballroom can seat 180 guests while the adjoining court room can accommodate an additional 90. The ballroom combines the best of the Victorian era with the 21st century touch that makes the Corinthia a world class hotel.
Guests can enjoy a five star dining experience courtesy of the Massimo Restaurant and Oyster Bar. Situated in one of the grandest parts of the hotel the restaurant certainly provides diners with a taste of the opulent. Designed by award winning interior designer David Collins, the space features 8 beautiful Corinthian Columns and a seven metre high ceiling where guests can sample the finest in traditional Mediterranean cuisine by world class chef Massimo Riccioli. The hotel also offers a variety of amenities including a world class spa and the first Harrods Concessions store in the world providing luxury at your fingertips.
